When asked what would motivate them to approach their landlord to consider changing managing agent, 55% of tenants said that expecting better quality services would be their main motivator, according to a nationwide survey of flat dwellers commissioned by Sky. Less than a third (27%) said they would want to pay less for the services they receive.
The survey also revealed that, when it comes to TV services, tenants generally want and expect the latest up to date technology. With access to TV and broadband now basically seen as an essential household utility on par with electricity and running water, the survey asked tenants what they considered to be important viewing options. Half (50%) wanted to be able to record programmes; 39% to pause and rewing live TV; 35% to access catch-up services. 31% wanted to be able to view TV on multiple devices throughout their home. 27% wanted to be kept up to date with the latest TV services by their managing agent.
General perceptions of managing agents was mostly positive, with 46% saying they making things easier when organising their home. Managing repairs and enhancements to the property (65%) and security (65%) were rated as the most important managing agent services.
