Bardsley Construction has won a £13.85m contract to build 147 apartments at X1 Aire, near the cultural quarter of Leeds, adjacent to the River Aire. It is the sixth contract they have been granted by developers X1, cementing their strong working partnership.
Melissa Green, operations and regional director at X1, said: “Following the success of our previous five contracts for Bardsley Construction we’re now looking forward to working with the firm to provide high quality accommodation for young professionals at X1 Aire, East Street, Leeds.”
The construction of this new-build development is scheduled to begin this month and be completed in April 2017. The scheme will deliver 147 one and two-bedroom apartments in three blocks, the smallest of which will reach 5 storeys in height, and the tallest soaring to 12 storeys. The complex will include five luxury penthouses, office space, an exclusive on-site residents gym, and 118 private secure parking spaces.
The buildings have been designed in conjunction with DK Architects. The frame will be covered by a mix of materials, including masonry brickwork and trespa clad boarding, which will provide breaks in the building mass to enhance individual balcony space. The mix of trespa colours will make the building stand out, giving it its own unique character.
