Global pizza chain Papa John’s recently found a home for their first store in Leeds, at The Becketts in Meanwood, having agreed a deal with property company Rushbond Group. With over 4,300 stores in 34 countries, they are the third largest pizza chain in the world.
The store occupies almost 1,500 sq ft in The Becketts, a mixed-use development situated between Monkbridge Road and Meanwood Road, which also houses East of Arcadia Bar & Brasserie and the much loved Italian restaurant Zucco.
Attracting a global brand like Papa John’s, Rushbond’s development surveyor said, “speaks volumes about the quality of the development and Meanwood as a whole.” The full occupation of The Becketts is hoped to continue the rejuvination of the area.
There are few word pairings that conjure more excitement than “free pizza,” but that is exactly what Papa John’s are offering on Saturday August 23 at their official store opening. In lieu of payment, they will be requesting donations to People in Action, a charity that aims to improve the lives of young people and adults in Leeds who have learning difficulties and disabilities.
