Let-Leeds responds to complaints about Billboard

As one of the region’s most responsible letting agents, Let-Leeds has always placed great emphasis on good relations with its tenants, landlords and the wider Leeds community. That is why we have won a number of national awards in recent years and why we have an exceedingly high satisfaction rate among those who use our services.

In Leeds Student News, see image below, our billboards and marketing were attacked for being crude and irresponsible. I would like to personally aplogise to Mr.Eaglestone for any offence we may have caused him, and will be happy to consult Mr.Eaglestone and his views on our future marketing plans in the area.

Our opinion is that Leeds is well known for being the North’s best party city, winning various awards such as ‘best city for clubbing’ as well as housing the second largest student population outside of London. Leeds is a vibrant and exciting City with a strong student presence and a diverse range of student accommodation. We thought the strapline ‘love your student house’ and the female clubber image would have been a great fit for the area.

The poster itself, shown below, which includes a head and shoulders picture of a female clubber, we felt, was not crude or damaging to the area.

If Mr Eaglestone would like to discuss this advert we will gladly welcome him to our offices. Let-Leeds will also make every effort to discuss it with the other organisations who felt the need to comment on it without speaking to us directly. Good dialogue with the local community is something that Let-Leeds prides itself on.

We have always treated Leeds with a great deal of respect. In fact, we believe that our ethical approach to letting properties across the city has played some part in making sure that tenants and landlords act responsibly and treat each other, their properties and local people with care and consideration.

We take every opportunity to make sure that anyone connected with Let-Leeds – staff, tenants and landlords – acts in a way that are good for the areas where we let properties. As a letting agent that places good relations with the people of Leeds at the top of its priorities, we look forward to speaking to anyone who wants to discuss the advert with us.
