The same chaps that brought Roxy Lanes, Roxy Ball Room, Brooklyn Bar, 51% Bourbon, Hirst’s Yard, and The Shed Bar to Leeds city centre, are bringing us a new bar/restaurant across from the First Direct Arena, called LAB, or Leeds Arena Bar.
Basing its theme around its acronym, LAB has a bit of a science thing going on, including glass measuring beakers – for concocting experimental cocktails; microscopes – for serious scientific research (or so you’ll think after a few drinks); and oil drum furniture – for sitting on, presumably.
The £400,000 venue is spread over two floors. The 60 cover restaurant on the first floor has a menu based on quality chicken and burgers to appeal to a wide range of customers. The venue has a maximum capacity of 210.
Sitting on the doorstep of the often sold-out gigs at the Arena, LAB is ideally placed to make the most of audiences looking for a bite to eat before the gig or a few drinks afterwards.
LAB is the ninth venue opened by the Jones Bar Group in the last ten years, seven of which are in Leeds city centre.
